Conference centres and training rooms always push the limits of automation because they need to be able to cope with all sorts of functions. The system must be able to cope with between 20 to 500 guests with room combining. They have 1 or more projectors showing the same or different sources. The sound system must be loud and clear without being too loud and absolutely no feedback. It must work effortlessly and be simple for guests to use. Or you have to supervise!

These projects used to scare me in the early days. Retractable doors, reed switches and room combining. How would I know what they want to achieve? Answer: Everything! These systems need a lot of thought, consultation and planning to get it right. Most of the time we work through what has been allowed for and work out a solution that meets the needs of the centre.

• A setup wizard with every possible mode catered for (located in the bio box or rack)
• Each mode as audio presets
• Options for video projectors etc
• Manual screen controls
• Lighting control
• A simple user interface
• When rooms are combined some user interfaces can be locked out
